It is the top one that gives the error.

When you are clicking those 3 options for posting the turn summary, click from bottom to top.  You will find you only get the error with the top one.

Anyway, just ignore it.  It doesn't cause any problems, and the turn summary gets posted anyway.

I'll fix it, but you won't see the fix til next release.

Global was updated today to version 2.7
(that is the file version)

You guys all need to redownload it.

The fixes:

2.7

    Fixing Strategic Bombers so that they add +2 damage onto raids.
    Allowed USA to go to war if Japan declares war on ANZAC / UK.
    Added one missing UK infantry to Egypt.
    Dropped price of Cruisers to 9, when you have shipyards tech.


Everyone needs to download it.

Make sure that both you and your opponents have it.  If your opponent does not have it, then you might end up playing by the old version....

Hello Verqyn, first thanks for the update.

Unfortunately I noticed another bug yeterday:

mech infantries should be able to blitz when paired with a tank.

The map doesn't let you. For now the only solution is to edit the blitzed territory.

noll, it works for me

you must click on the tanks AND the mech inf, at the same time

so, if you click 1 tank and 1 mech inf, then it will be allowed

if you click 1 tank and 2 mech inf, then it might allow 1 mech inf to blitz or it might disallow the whole move


if you click 1 tank, and move it
then later click 1 mech inf, and try to move it also,
then the move will be disallowed

you have to move them together

Right, to be precise it is like this:

"Mechanized infantry units can move two territories in noncombat movement without a tank. In
fact, they can also move two territories in combat movement without a tank, as long as the first
territory is friendly. They only need to be paired with a tank in order to perform a blitz movement,
which involves moving through an unoccupied hostile territory during combat movement."
(taken from the Official Europe 1940 Clarification)

and:

"Improved Mechanized Infantry:  Each of your mechanized infantry units that are paired up
with a tank or artillery now has an attack value of 2. Also, your mechanized infantry may now
blitz without being paired with a tank."
(taken from Alpha 3 final)

... I did not notice this before, either...

I noticed that the posted Territory Summary is inclomplete.
In the attached savegame (G1) Germany has ships in SZ 106 and 110.
Also Germany entered Finland and Bulgaria in it's NCM.
Neither the mentioned SZ nor territories are listed in the Territory Summary.

Can you do the same for the Europe map only? It would be great to play this smaller and quicker map with scrambling and the new NOs too. There is even a semiofficial answer http://www.harrisgamedesign.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=9001 how to deal with the US bonus. I hope this is not too much work, since alpha rules are already implemented and the europe map is working too.

Here is a description of the AIs:

1. EZ Fodder (Easy AI) = Extremely sucks at global 1940
2. Moore N Able (Medium AI) = Sucks at global 1940
3. Dynamix AI (Experimental AI) = Sucks as Russia/China, Extremely sucks as all other powers, in global 1940

I don't know if this has been already addressed:

In Global Map version 2.8 when for example on G1 Germany declares war on Russia, Italy is automatically set to be at war with Russia after that, too.

I think that this is against the rules. Alpha final says:

"If another power declares war on your power, your power is at war immediately, but only with
the power that declared war on it. You must wait until your turn to make any declarations of war
on other powers that were enabled by that declaration. For example, if Germany declares war
on the United States, the United States is immediately at war with Germany, but it must wait
until its turn to declare war on Italy. Of course, the United States may also declare war on
Germany on its turn, but this is technically unnecessary, as the two powers are already at war."

So in this scenario Russia must wait until it's own turn to declare war to Italy.
Russia can be at war with Germany AND / OR Italy.
