I will dig around and see if I still have it.  The New Forum / War club is being worked on here

https://forums.triplea-game.org

I would like to include some of your links like they were in the old war club.

There are 4 different scenarios called Hearts of Iron 2. Which one did you want converted?

The HOI2 Babarosa was the main file which he then later created an updated xml.  Hoi was also good.  As well as The Awakening the Giants extension.  Its up to you. If its doable I guess it would be nice to have all of them.  If the first one turns out to be a huge headache then don't worry about it.  Thxs for having a look.

This was a mess. I consolidated the scenarios into a single folder, put the art where it belonged, fixed a missing unit, fixed a miscapitalization and added an additional autocorrect for IPCs.

Are all of these being transferred so you can download them with TripleA?  Or do you have to download these here and put them in the map folders yourself?

For now, you will have to download them directly. You will have to ask the people running the GitHub repository about adding them.

One problem is that the files in the GitHub repository have a different folder structure. My files use the old folder structure, which still works. When I finish all the conversions, I will update my own website and the worry about the repository.

Indeed, indeed; the lebowskys are always filled with any kind of crap. This is why I never bothered with this, despite the fact that prastle asked me many times. I'm actually surprised you had the patience of cleaning these things up, I can imagine how much work you had to do to bring these back working; good work, I guess.

Prastle said he could not load it; so I took a look and here are some remaining issues:

The folder name is not following the standard convention: it should be called "hearts_of_iron_2" (this is the convention used in all maps in the repository), changing inside the xml as well. Also, since you are using spaces, they gets stripped upon downloading, and the map cannot be started (this was prastle problem).

On the other hand, the info name is conventionally wrong, as well: you should never use underscores there; moreover, it seems that those are named as random; so I suggest you rename those four these ways:
Hearts of Iron 2: Clash Of The Titans-Winter1942->Hearts of Iron 2 : Clash Of The Titans - 1942
Hearts of Iron2_Lion's Den_1944->Hearts of Iron 2 : Lion's Den - 1944
Hearts of Iron2_Operation Barbarossa->Hearts of Iron 2 : Operation Barbarossa - 1941
Hearts of Iron 2: Turning tide-1943->Hearts of Iron 2 : Turning Tide - 1943

The "navalmine.png" of the Germans doesn't display, for me: when loading "Lions_Den_1944" the "navalmine" in "SZ 11 Baltic Sea" is not displayed, and I receive an error. I don't know what the problem is, but should be solved or reported as bug, if you still want to upload this map.

Also, sadly, the swastika is not allowed, so you will need to remove that as well, when you want to have it uploaded (I still hope the developers will allow it). Beside this, the medium sized swastika of the Germans is wrong, as it is a small one, instead.

Finally, I suggest to substitute the "Bunker" and "Bunker_hit" images with those of New World Order.

And, a question, do you understand what those relief are for? Why there are only the 11_2 and 11_3 relief?? Is that intended or the others are missing???

Re: Scenario Updates to version 1.9

I made most of the changes Cernel suggested. See http://www.rogercooper.com/Hearts_of_Iron2.zip.

If anyone wants to change this more, go ahead. I am just doing the minimum to make it run. The invisible navalmine is mysterious to me, it shows up correctly in unit help and there is no capitalization issue. However, invisible mines is OK from a play point of view. I caught an error with fighterjet.

I understand that the repository has higher standards than my website.

Re: Scenario Updates to version 1.9

Cernel
As I said, as per repository standards, it should be "hearts_of_iron_2", not "Hearts_of_Iron2". It's not just substituting spaces with underscores, also all is supposed to be lower case.

Re: Scenario Updates to version 1.9

Cernel
What I was saying is that, in case you missed it, you may want to follow the repository convention, while you are in this process of upgrading, so that, if any of those maps will be duplicated between the repository and your site or anywhere, the users at least won't end up having both "hearts_of_iron_2" and "Hearts_of_Iron2", or whatever, in their folders, being the same things with different names, mainly because, if the infoname is the same, it would be confusing in game selection.

So, while you are doing this great effort of bringing so many maps into 1.9.0, you might want to also assure their folder names are as per current conventions. Just look at the names in the repository. Also, the lead developers want no xml referring to a folder they are not inside.

Examples:
Hearts of Iron2->hearts_of_iron_2
2013Conflict->2013_conflict

Hey Roger, some people complain that (in their opinion only) pact of steel was ruined by the skin update years ago. Do you happen to have the very old skin of pact of steel? I don't think Veqryn kept it anywhere when he made/accepted the changes.

From lobby:
"
oh man
i rly wish someone could bring back POS map skin
id love to play it but cant with this look
it was anyways better revised map before
now no one plays it anymore
its used to be just an old map skin i dunno why it isnt shown as chooseable??
so pls that would be great
"

This is a years long complaint, sometimes, but I've never asked Veqryn about this. The old one could be made into a mapskin, as it was made for 270bc, when hepps made the new one. I don't think that was made for pos as well.

The matter is that I don't believe an "old" mapskin was ever made, but just the current was upgraded and the old lost; so the question would be if you have the old pos still somewhere (we are talking of more than 5 years ago).
It looks like you have no mapskins at all?

This is what it looks like...

Is this the old map design?

Nah; I was talking of the much older one. POS is around since about 10 years by now. Actually, I've never seen the old skin myself either, but for sure here we are talking well before 2014.

Re: Scenario Updates to version 1.9

Then it'll be on my old computer.

If I ever take it into someone to get everything taken off the drive then it'll be in there.  I make a point of never deleting old triple A versions or map versions.

I'll dig the tower out and take it to someone... since there are also (quite literally) thousands of unit designs and graphics on that computer for Triple A... like all of the redesigned units for 270 BC.    I know that is one of you personal favorites.

If it's not too expensive to extract everything then I will provide it.
