How and where to post bugs

Could people use the sourceforge bug tracker to post bugs, tracking things on the forum is really hard.

The bug tracker is here,

When posting a bug, please enter the TripleA version you are using, and if possible, attach a saved game showing the bug.

It also helps if you sign up for a sourceforge account when posting the bug.  That way you get notifications of when the bug is closed, and we can contact you if we need more information about the bug.

Sorry, I didn't notice this before.  The sourceforge but tracker is still being used, and is the place to report bugs.  New files will most likely go up on sourceforge once we decide what we can keep, and what should be removed.

If you create a sourceforge account, and are logged in when you submit the bug, you will get emails when someone comments on the bug, or if it is closed.

It's much harder for things to get lost using the sourceforge bug tracker.  We (or at least I) don't read all the forum posts, and even if we read the post, we might forget about it before I get around to fixing it.

I am brand new to the game and this forum (as of yesterday) and the other place sourceforge or whatever seems more daunting so just wish to mention an issue I encountered tonight playing against my brother.

I am the allies and late into the game I put a British AK AK on an American transport.... I moved it on the Americans turn. On the next British turn I wished to unload the AK AK gun in to an allies territory but it would not let me. I tried to unload it in another adjacent teroiy that was owned by me but it would not have it. In the end my brother showed me the edit mode but despite being able to manually add an AK AK to where it should be dropped off it would not let me delete the AK AK - it said you muct delete the transport also. We tried that but it then says you can't as the transport is owned by a differnt country or something so even the work around has a glitch.

Basicly he added me in another transport and I have agreed to sail the now ghost ship away from all other units as technically it does not exist but something must be wrong with the game some how... why would it not let me unload the Ak Ak gun?

1st. I tried this and it worked for me.  I am able to offload troops from other allies' transport in a legal manner.

2nd. Please ALWAYS provide a savegame showing the error.  If you do not provide a savegame, I can't do anything about it.  You can upload it by clicking "more", then clicking "upload a file", when you are making your forum post.

3rd. You can "Move" units in edit mode, by turning on edit mode then clicking the "Action" tab.  (then just move the AA gun as you would normally)

Alas the game is on my brothers lap top so am unable to provide what you ask but when you say you were able to offload troops from other allies transports in a legal manner so to was I accept for the transport with the AA gun on - that was the issue, I cannot unload the British AA gun I picked up from Scotland on an American transport which I moved right into the sea space below finland/Norway above Germany with Rusian terotries to the right, it would not let me unload it on the British turn to any terroity owned by either Russia or Britian at that time - as I tried them all but got that red x both on the combat phase and non-combat phase?

I will try to recreate the issue myself in a game and then send that to you.
Is it you who created this game and if so how often to updates occur and should I uninstall and re-load a newer version every so often?

I think it's fantastic but find myt trouble is I takle a long time over my go's which is frustrating for other players - be great if there was a timer that could be introduced that way its fair for all players and though I would loose big time over time am sure it would make me be more decisive and more fun for my opponents. Only other thing as I said I wish the battle ships could be made clearer on the field of play - perhaps give then a bold border or something as I have messed up twice in naval landings not being offered a support shot thus meaning what i thought was a battle ship clearly was not.

Right I have just recreated it and same prob occured (unless of course your not allowed to ship an AA gun into an allies terroirty) it's preventing me offloading it again.

i just took you savegame,

i went to the british noncombat phase

and i clicked on the 2 aaguns and unloaded the 2 aaguns into poland



it works for me


edit: i was also able to offload them to leningrad and all the other allied territories touching that sea zone

I was trying to put them in a Russian terriotry and they would not unload for me doing that?

Also while here I tried tonight for the first time to have a look at playing over the net but when I click the option it comes up with an error saying try dowloading the latest version which I have just done twice tonight but still getting the same error - how do I get the net lobby etc to load up - I feel embarrased that my PC knowledge is well minimal to say the least... no formal training just learning as I use so to speak.

Also wondering how hard would it be to write into the game some kind of timer opton that you could choose before start of game and it would tick down and move you on to the next phase as I stuggle to be fast and it really annoys my brother so feel only way to be fair as he reckons he's quick n his goes but i to think he take long time just i am patient and don't moan... so way to solve that is agree on a time per phase before game but if the computer does it can't be any arguments - like say 2 mins per phase, so 2 mins to decide and do tech... if you move on quicker you can carry the time saved to next phase so say if you don't go for tech and then when you go to purchasing you get another 2 mins plus what ever was saved from the tech time etc and basicly you get 2 mins for each phase... if at any time your time gets to zero - pc/game skips you to next phase... yes it will cause some issues with units stranded but ultimatly it's fair for all and will speed me up. War does not wait for any man... just an idea and guess request.

you can only unload your aagun in non combat move

Download the all platform 1614 put it in your triplea folder and fire it up you should be good to go  just keep messing with it you'll figure it out

I'm not a total cretin and was trying to do it on the non combat phase but it still wouldn't have it? :-s

As for playing online I've given up as no matter what I tried kept getting the error message.

if THAT exact savegame does not work for you, please post a screenshot of you doing the same thing with that savegame, showing that it doesn't work for you

if it is not that savegame that is the problem, then please post the savegame that clearly shows the exact problem

Me to - I guess it was just in the game that's stuck on my brothers laptop - we sailed the boat to a space out the way of the war as techniclly it doesn't exist anymore - but next time I am round his to finish off the game I will try and load the saved game up to that nabble thread for you to investigate. Thanks for all your replies.

It always has been.  Some dont know, or forget its there.  For some bugs with pictures and explanations required, I think the forum works better though.
'thats the way it is' makes it neither desireable nor inevitable

2. That bug is a bug with the map, not with the AI or the TripleA engine.  I will let the guys who made that map know about it, thanks.
